The amount of damages depends on the kind of injury and average weekly wage before the accident. In the case of off the job injuries, liability must be shown on the part of the potential defendant. If a motor vehicle is involved, a serious injury must be shown. Typical cases are slip and falls, automobile accidents, medical malpractice and excessive force by government agents resulting in unjustifiable serious injur. Personal injury cases are taken on a contingent fee basis.
