KRYSIA CARMEL NELSON
An active rider and horseowner, Ms. Nelson is a member of the Farmington Hunt, USEF, USHJA, National Steeplechase Association, American Horse Council and Virginia Horse Council. She grew up riding on Long Island, NY, and competed actively in the hunter and equitation divisions under the tutelage of the Caristo family at their Glenview Stable. During law school, she rode for Olympic veteran (and now Kentucky Derby winning trainer) Michael Matz.
In addition to foxhunting and showing, in recent years she has competed in hunter trials, endurance trail rides, and raced over fences. She and her husband, Rob (manager and CEO of Eldon Farm Equine and Racing Stable), also own Thoroughbred racehorses. Daughter, Kate, rides her pony daily.
TAMARA LEIGH TUCKER
Ms. Tucker's experience encompasses over thirty years of riding and showing ponies and horses. During college, she competed on a winning varsity intercollegiate team, qualifying yearly for regional and national finals, with a 5th place individual finish at the 1989 IHSA National Horse Show. During law school, Ms. Tucker rode with National Hunter Hall of Fame trainer Roger Young in Camden, SC, and for the last eight years she has successfully shown in amateur hunter divisions with renowned rider and trainer Tommy Serio. She has garnered tricolors at "A" and "AA" shows throughout the east coast.
In addition to showing, Ms. Tucker served as the Facility Director for a 500-acre, 100-horse farm in Virginia. She is a Past President of the Battlefield Horse Shows Association, regular judge of VHSA Associate shows, and member of USEF, USHJA and VHSA. |
