LEGAL EXPERIENCE - I am a sole practitioner specializing in personal injury litigation. During my first six years as an attorney, I operated a general practice, including criminal defense, divorce and custody disputes, and business matters, so that I could obtain a broad experience in many aspects of the law. For the past fourteen years, I have devoted my practice exclusively to helping people injured in accidents of all kinds; for example, injuries caused by automobile accidents, defective products, falls on sidewalks and exposure to toxic chemicals. I have served on the committees that have helped to settle mass toxic tort cases against the major chemical polluters in this area.

TRIAL EXPERIENCE - I have extensive trial experience before both juries and judges, successfully representing my clients in many types of cases. I have also obtained lucrative awards for my clients through settlement, mediation and arbitration.

PRO TEM JUDGE - Over the years, I have assisted the courts of both Contra Costa and Alameda Counties by acting as a temporary judge, filling in as needed by the courts. My experience as a judge has given me an additional perspective on the law and litigation which I am able to use to better represent my clients.

LANGUAGE - Having served two years as a missionary in Argentina, I am fluently bilingual in English and Spanish. My staff is also bilingual. We have worked closely with the minority communities of California to advance and preserve the rights of all members of our society.

EDUCATION - I graduated with High Honors from California State University at Hayward in 1977. I attended J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University on a scholarship. I received my Juris Doctor degree in 1980, and was admitted to the Bar that same year.

ADMISSIONS - I am admitted to practice in all of the courts of the State of California, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California
