Biography:
Richard Tegtmeier grew up on a farming and cattle operation in Nebraska. In 1971, he completed both his undergraduate and law degrees in 6-1/2 years at the University of Nebraska and moved to Colorado Springs to experience the Colorado mountains and be a Colorado Public Defender.
Four years and almost 50 jury trials later, Richard started his own law firm, specializing in criminal defense and began working on federal wiretap and marijuana cases that received national interest. These included the successful defense of a crew member on the Tiki Tango shrimp boat with 20 tons of pot off the coast of Florida and also several celebrated Colorado murder cases. He has defended thousands of citizens accused.
Richard has been in demand as a national speaker for programs in 36 states. He is faculty member of the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, GA and the Wyoming Trial Advocacy Institute in Laramie, WY.
Richard also led transformational Seminars for the Landmark Education Corporation for many years. He’s committed to making a positive difference in people’s lives both in and out of the courtroom.
