I paid $5,400 for my loan modification. They never did any thing and not even call the bank to work for my modification. I paid for nothing they took my money away. After a year I got a letter from KEL asking for more money I I wanted to continue with them. Please do not waste your money with this company.

When my husband and I went it to KEL to have them file head of the household so money would stop being taken from my husband's paycheck we were told it was going to be $800. We were told that it is usually $200 but since it was in a different county (across the state, which they claimed they would have to go to) the charge is $1,000 but they were going to give us a discount. We were NEVER told the $800 was just a retainer. We paid them the money and it took one whole month for us to receive a

Tim ¿ We sat with you on Dec. 4th. Its Now Dec. 19th. Instead of being part of the solution you you and your firm are only adding to them. No progress being made, no phone calls, or emails being responded to. Shamefully unprofessional and unacceptable. This is the end of the road. We are securing alternate legal counsel this morning. Hallie ¿ Hang up on client. he lack of professional courtesy you are personally providing is not what we are paying for and will not be tolerated.

While KEL ended up providing proper service on my case, their communication was horrible and responsiveness was nowhere to be found.

The service was ok, the only problem I found disturbing was I never knew who was handling my case, constantly changing.

A law firm only interested in collections from the client, thats all I ever heard from was Kel wanting there next payment, if not for myself asking the day before if I needed to be at a court hearing, they would of missed the appearance, the employee from the billing department incorrectly told me I lost my case, and was gleeful about it, no one gave a crap, no one at kel did any thing, like a three ring circus, with only collections well oiled. Over 2500 for nothing, do not hire this firm...

Awful. Apathetic. Avaricious. Misleading. Disengaged. Never received court documents from court hearing. Met with my atty once in 4 months, five days before the hearing, spoke with him twice by phone. Difficult to get calls returned. Primary contact (rare) was AR, and paralegals. After losing the case (characterized as "a done deal") was pitched for an appeal proffering a strategy that would have worked just fine in the initial hearing. I'm rating them a "1" only because there is no "0" option.

Very difficult to actually speak to an attorney. A long time to get answers and bounced from person to person constantly having to supply the same information.

Was kept in the dark and contact was only made when we asked questions. Dragged out the problem but was willing to finish if we drew up another contract. Mediation went nowhere and was assigned an attorney who didn't know our case. No contact and information was given unless we DEMANDED it.

I had my 341 hearing on 4/19/2012 at that time my attorney (KEL) suggested that I forfeit a piece of property I own in lieu of my car being taken away. The trustee agreed. For the next 7 wks. I called KEL (my attorneys) to find out if it was settled. 7wks later they told me they don't want the property and that I could do a buyout for $2500 or finance for 3600. Then a couple of days later they said no finance
$2500 or they take the vehicle. these attorneys are not good advocates
for you.

About Client Rating
About Peer Rating

Welcome to Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review, a new ratings service that allows you to view and provide feedback on a lawyer or law firm on service and relationship qualities such as Communication Ability, Responsiveness, Quality of Service, and Value for Money.

Determining a Rating

The Client Review Rating is determined through aggregation of validated responses. This compilation of Client Reviews translates to a numerical rating and associate descriptive term on a scale of 1 -5. 1 being lowest as "Rated" and 5 being highest as "Preeminent".

  • 4.5-5.0 Preeminent
  • 3.0-4.4 Distinguished
  • 1-2.9 Rated

Martindale-Hubbell uses a third-party resource to validate that the respondent is a living person, but cannot confirm the lawyer/client relationship, which in many cases is confidential. Clients must affirm that they are a client of the lawyer or firm identified for review at the time of the completed Client Review.

The Reviewers

Those who complete Client Reviews are clients of law firms who hired a lawyer within the last year, whose matter is not pending, and want to share their experience of that lawyer or law firm with other potential clients. Reviewers can be of any type from in-house counsel, corporate executives, small business owners to private individuals, and even sometimes another lawyer in a different jurisdiction.

Anonymity

Client Reviews are anonymous and reviewers' identities are not published; however a summary of basic demographics will be part of the display of responses.

Why do we collect demographics as part of the review?

Those who are researching a lawyer or law firm like to see that there are other clients who might be "like them". This is valuable information contributing to the decision-making process of hiring a lawyer.

Martindale-Hubbell's role

Martindale-Hubbell facilitates the process of Client Review by gathering responses, validating them and aggregating results for display online. The content of the responses are entirely from reviewers, the clients of the firm or lawyer.

It is important to note that Martindale-Hubbell does not undertake to develop Client Reviews for all firms and lawyers. Therefore, the fact that a firm or lawyer has not been reviewed should not be construed unfavorably. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome and Martindale-Hubbell accepts no responsibility for the content or accuracy of any review over which Martindale-Hubbell exercises no editorial review or control.
