Biography: Katherine E. Garren joined Stone, Stone & Creem as an Associate in November 2006. Ms. Garren concentrates her practice in the area of domestic relations including divorce, domestic violence, custody, child support and paternity matters. She earned her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 2003, completing internships with Greater Boston Legal Services, Family Law Unit, The Domestic Violence Institute, The Massachusetts Law Reform Institute and the Honorable Margot Botsford through Northeastern's cooperative education program. Upon her graduation from law school, Ms. Garren accepted a clinical teaching fellowship at Northeastern University School of Law's Domestic Violence Institute and Clinic as a supervising attorney. During her three years as supervising attorney, Ms. Garren directed the Domestic Violence Institute's Boston Medical Center program in which she recruited, trained and supervised 40-50 law students from Boston-area law schools each year to provide legal advocacy to victims of domestic violence in the Emergency Department at Boston Medical Center. In addition, she co-taught the Domestic Violence Clinic, a six-credit clinical course with both classroom and practical components, which placed law students in Dorchester District Court to advocate for victims through the 209A restraining order process.
