Attorney Ball received her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh summa cum
laude in 1974. Following the award of a Master of Public Administration degree
from the University's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs in
1977, she began her career in public service as a Presidential Management Intern
at the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., where she later
served as a budget and program analyst in the clean air program.
After moving to New Hampshire, Nancy attended the Franklin Pierce Law Center,
graduating in 1985. The following year, she was a law clerk for the New Hampshire
Superior Court. She is a member of the New Hampshire Bar and the Federal Bar
of the District of New Hampshire.
From 1986 to 1989, Nancy practiced with Nighswander, Martin and Lord with a
focus on personal injury, civil litigation and marital law. During her tenure
with Westcott, Millham and Dyer from 1989 to 1993, Nancy expanded her marital
practice to include guardian ad litem work, represented children in district
court matters and successfully resolved a plaintiff's dental malpractice claim.
Since 1993, her practice has focused on family law as a solo practitioner and
as an associate at Stein, Volinsky and Callaghan.
We have welcomed Nancy to the marital department at Shaheen & Gordon in
September 2002. She will continue her practice in all aspects of family law.
Nancy has been active in non-profit organizations throughout her career. She
has served as a consultant to the New Hampshire Coalition Against Rape and Domestic
Violence, and was founding member of New Beginnings, the domestic violence support
agency in Laconia, New Hampshire. For four years she served on the board of
the New Hampshire Women's Lobby. Nancy has been a volunteer for Innisfree, a
grassroots organization providing support to cancer patients and caregivers.
