Ruben Ortiz has defended over 4,000 people accused of a crime. Having never been a prosecutor, he has gained all of his professional experience in defending people, not prosecuting them.
Mr. Ortiz has been a life-long resident of El Paso, Texas. Being bilingual, he has helped to make the defense of Spanish speaking clients heard by the courts.
Ruben Ortiz holds a J.D., B.B.A., and M.B.A., and is a Certified Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as a member of the: Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association; Texas Bar Association; El Paso Bar Association.
He is licensed by the State of Texas to practice Law, and also licensed to practice in the United States Western District Federal Court.
Ruben Ortiz successfully completed the course of training at the Criminal Trial Advocacy Institute, held by the Criminal Defense Lawyers Project of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Mr. Ortiz holds a Certificate of Completion for successfully completing the 24 Hour National Highway Transportation Safety Administration Standardized Fields Sobriety Testing Practitioner Certification course.
