Gary E. Robbins was first admitted to the practice of law in 1976. Since 1982, he has represented literally hundreds and hundreds of parents and children in family law matters, first, in Juvenile Court cases in the Phoenix area through 1992, and then domestic relations cases in Coconino County since 1992. He also has the experience of working as a Staff Attorney for the Arizona Court of Appeals for nearly two years.

Mr. Robbins, himself, went through a difficult divorce in 1993. He says that 1993 was, by far, the hardest year of his life. He was able to proceed from surviving the break-up of his marriage, to healing, and then to growing. He knows what it is like to not be able to eat or to sleep. He has been there. And both his Certified Legal Assistant, Lori Brook, and his Front Office Manager, Jan Hanson, have been there.

Our office is located on the Fifth Floor of the Bank of America Building, across the street from the historic Coconino County Courthouse. The above picture of the century old courthouse and the San Francisco Peaks was taken from our office.

Office Policies

It is the policy of Gary E. Robbins, P.C., if possible, to offer a free half-hour consultation with Mr. Robbins within twenty-four hours of a potential client calling this office. When you are hurting, it is important that you see a professional as soon as possible.

It is also the policy of this office, if possible, to file the initial petition within twenty-four hours of this office being retained. It is very important to not delay in such matters and to set the right tone for your case.

We use a refundable deposit on fees, instead of a non-refundable retainer. If your case can be settled quickly, then you will likely receive a refund.

Mr. Robbins limits his practice to domestic relations cases, such as divorce, paternity, termination of parental rights, adoption, and non-parent child custody. He refers other cases, such as criminal, and personal injury cases to other attorneys.

Mr. Robbins also limits his practice to cases in Coconino County. There are qualified attorneys in other counties who know the preferences of the judges in their counties. Mr. Robbins refers family law cases in other counties to those other attorneys.

Being an Effective Family Law Attorney

Mr. Robbins likes to say that if you are looking for the meanest and nastiest attorney in Flagstaff, then you will not want to hire him. Mean, and nasty attorneys may be appropriate for some criminal and personal injury cases, but they are not appropriate for family law cases, which require far more subtle skills. Children are especially harmed when the attorneys cannot control their aggressive impulses.

At the same time, Mr. Robbins will defend and protect your rights in a firm and compassionate manner. Where mediation can be used, he will use it. However, if your case must go to trial, he is ready, willing and able to go to trial. While Mr. Robbins will not start fights for the sake of starting fights, with 23 years of experience as an attorney, he will not be bullied. Instead of being an aggressive attorney, Mr. Robbins is an assertive and a persistent attorney.

Available Pamphlets

Mr. Robbins has prepared several pamphlets that are available to the public, including a one page "Resources for Reconciliation", an eight page "How to Prepare for Divorce and Child Custody", and a thirty-eight page "Divorce in Coconino County, Arizona".
