In addition to his civil practice experience, Douglas has successfully represented a number of white collar criminal defendants in state courts and also in the United State District Courts. From 1997 until 2001, Douglas practiced as a partner in the firm of Douglas & Jenkinson. Prior to the formation of Douglas & Jenkinson, Douglas was a partner in the law firms of Rice, Hannis & Douglas, and following a merger, was a member of the executive committee and a litigation group leader of the statewide law firm of Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love.

Suzanne Williams-McAuliffe, an associate with the Law Office of Richard L. Douglas, has been practicing in Martinsburg area since 2000. Before joining the Law Office of Richard L. Douglas, Ms. McAuliffe practiced with West Virginia Legal Services Plan, Inc. in Martinsburg, Hamstead and Associates, L.C. in Charles Town, West Virginia and the Law Offices of Lynda Latta in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
