The Law Offices of Richard S. Humphrey was founded in 1985. Prior to starting his own firm, Mr. Humphrey worked as an Associate at the Law Offices of Dolbashian, Chappell, Chace & Forte in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, where he was trained in all aspects of trial practice.

The firm is capable of handling trials and appeals in State and Federal Courts in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Maine. Significant practice areas include all aspects of civil and criminal litigation including: legal malpractice, surety law, insurance law, personal injury, construction law, criminal defense and admiralty.

In the past, the firm has been retained by the First State Management Company, Inc., Worcester Insurance Company, National Grange Mutual Insurance Company and Avis Rent A Car. The firm has also served other insurers and self-insureds. Representative clients include the Town of Little Compton, Rhode Island, G. Lopes Construction, Inc., and the Rhode Island Association of Department of Administration Supervisors.
