Against major long term care insurance company for unfairly increasing premiums.

Against State Farm Insurance for bad faith refusal to pay underinsured benefits to pregnant woman and child injured in wreck.

Against trucking company that fraudulently attempted to obtain insurance coverage for truck that hit  two limosines full of chiropractors and lawyers.

Personal Injury

Defended major psychiatric hospital chain in claims where accused of negligently allowing patients to escape and commit suicide.

Won summary judgment for psychiatric hospital accused of libel and false imprisonment.  Reported in Dempsey v. Health Care San Antonio, WL 15973 (Tex. App. - San Antonio 1999)

Won jury trial for manufacturer of roller skates against doctor injured when wheel fell off.

Defended major chemical companies in toxic tort suits.

Business Litigation

Defended oil and gas exploration and production company accused of overbilling other working interest owners.

Represented investors defrauded of stock in biotech company.  Reported in Granada Corp. v. Hon. First of Appeals, 844 S.W.2d 223.  Texas S. Ct. held that attorney client communications not protected by privilege when made in furtherance of commission of crime or fraud.

Represent numerous businesses in contract disputes, including breach of warranty for oil field equipment, lease terminations.

Obtained summary judgment in federal court for engineering company in discrimination suit. 

Represented U.S. Congressman in libel suit; obtained injunction and retraction. Reported in Houston Press, April 2000.
