Gary Hogan is a real estate, bankruptcy and litigation attorney with extensive experience in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Gary concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate transactions, acquisitions and dispositions, commercial real estate transactions, and other sophisticated asset based transactions. He also handles real estate development, land use and planning, zoning and related litigation. Gary’s expertise also includes complex real estate structuring and title matters.

Gary represents a wide spectrum of clients, including institutional and SBA lenders, family owned and closely held businesses, corporations, business shareholders and individuals. Gary appears in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island courts on behalf of his clients who are involved in litigation.

Gary has considerable experience in the bankruptcy field. He represents lenders in collection, foreclosure, bankruptcy and workout matters. He regularly appears in Bankruptcy Court in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts on behalf of his clients.

Gary also has considerable experience representing debtors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases. As a State Legislator, Gary was the prime drafter and sponsor of legislation that amended the Rhode Island Homestead Statute, as well as modifications to the exemption statute.

Gary and his wife Mary live in Smithfield, RI, where they raised their two children who are recent college graduates. Gary enjoys watching soccer and hockey, visiting the beach and playing golf.

Representative Experience
•Represented the seller of a 650-kilowatt photovoltaic solar-field. Handled all aspects of this asset sale in this $1.6+ million transaction.
•Assisted the owner of a large land clearing and trucking company from Maine in opening a new facility in Massachusetts. Handled all aspects of this transaction, including the purchase of commercial real estate and the purchase of all assets of the seller in connection with this multi million dollar project.
•Represented a large Massachusetts commercial lender and the Certified Development Company (CDC) in connection with closing multiple SBA 504 transactions.
•Represented a closely held business in connection with the purchase of a multi-location dry cleaning business.
•Represented a commercial real estate developer in connection with a million-dollar favorable judgment within bankruptcy court.
