McLane has a proud heritage of providing legal services to the poor and underprivileged citizens of New Hampshire. Since its inception, the firm has expected and encouraged pro bono work by all of its attorneys. From John McLane to Jack Middleton to McLane's newest associates today, individual attorneys at the firm take their pro bono responsibilities very seriously. As a firm, we regularly look for ways to further enhance our efforts. McLane's Pro Bono Policy encourages all our attorneys to annually perform 30 to 50 hours of pro bono service for the underprivileged citizens of New Hampshire. Many of our attorneys exceed that goal. Our pro bono coordinator works directly with the New Hampshire Bar's Pro Bono Referral Program to arrange for McLane attorneys to represent those underprivileged individuals in need of legal services.Commitment to Pro Bono and Our Community It is important to recognize that the volunteer efforts of our attorneys extend well beyond providing pro bono legal services. Most attorneys at McLane serve on the board of at least one nonprofit organization and perform community service work in various ways. A recent tally indicated that McLane attorneys were involved with over 150 different community service and nonprofit organizations.Similar to our pro bono efforts, we understand the importance of giving back to our local communities, and we realize great personal satisfaction in bettering our communities. Although these various other forms of community service clearly are for the public good, McLane's pro bono program focuses on providing free legal services to those in need.
