| Additional Bio Details | Thimi Mina began his professional career in 1978 with his selection to the inaugural class of the Presidential Internship Program. After rotational assignments to executive agencies during the administration of President Jimmy Carter, including stints at the Department of Justice and the Office of Management and Budget, Thimi joined the staff of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. In 1985, Thimi was appointed Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia where he quickly developed a reputation as an outstanding trial attorney.
Thimi grew up in Westbrook, Maine. He received his bachelors degree with distinction from the University of Maine in 1976 and a Masters in Public Administration from the Michigan State University in 1978. A graduate of the American University’s Washington College of Law, he is licensed to practice law in Maine and the District of Columbia, before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States District Courts for Maine and the District of Columbia. He also serves on the Advisory Committee on the Maine Rules of Criminal Procedure. |
