Scott DeSimone has practiced primarily in the areas of real property tax law and condemnation since 1994 representing both municipalities and property owners. Mr. DeSimone has represented property owners in assessment review proceedings throughout New York state but predominately in Nassau and Suffolk Counties and also acts Of Counsel to several law firms and solo practitioners. Mr. DeSimone has argued real property tax matters cases before the second and third departments of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division and the New York State Court of Appeals. Mr. DeSimone has served twice as the Chairman of the Condemnation and Tax Certiorari Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association and is the current Co-Chairman. Mr. DeSimone has represented a local zoning board of Appeals since 2000 providing counsel at hearings and defending Article 78 proceedings brought against the board. Mr. DeSimone has also represented both applicants and adjoining property owners opposing applications before various municipal agencies and boards in zoning and land use matters. Mr. DeSimone is currently engaged in rewriting a local zoning code. Mr. DeSimone has represented buyers and sellers in commercial and residential real estate transactions and is licensed individually in New York State as a Real Estate Broker.
