Anonymous v. Dr. Doe: A $1.3 million dollar settlement in a case involving an anesthesiology error. (January, 1999)

Anonymous v. Dr. Doe: An $850,000 settlement in a failure to diagnose breast cancer case. (August, 1998)

Eubanks v. Legacy Emanuel Hospital: A $1.25 million dollar jury verdict for a young man who stored samples of his sperm in a sperm bank before chemotherapy left him sterile. The hospital lost the sperm and his opportunity to have children. (October, 1997)

Jane Doe v. Dr. Doe: An $800,000 settlement for a 50 year old woman involving failure to diagnose a stroke. (June, 1995)

Henderson v. St. Vincent Hospital: A $1.4 million dollar jury verdict for a 32 year old housewife and mother where the emergency room and family doctor failed to diagnose brain swelling. (February, 1995)

Estate of Lucich v. Dr. Doe: A $1 million dollar jury verdict in Clackamas County, Oregon for the death of a 24 year old housewife from failure to diagnose breast cancer. A no offer case and a historic verdict at the time. (1981)

Peterson v. Boring Machine Works: A $1 million dollar settlement for a man whose arm was amputated while inspecting a saw when another employee activated the machine. (July, 1998)

Bergeron v. USA: A $1.3 million dollar U.S. District Court of Oregon bench verdict for a widower who lost his leg and wife when a Fish and Wildlife semi-tractor crossed the road and hit the couple head-on. (June, 1997)

Estate of Dell v. Roseburg Lumber Co. & Stalcup Trucking: A $1.3 million dollar settlement for the wrongful death of a 40 year old husband and father from a head-on collision with disputed liability. (May 1995)

Pwell v. Boy Scouts of America: A $7 million dollar jury verdict for a 16 year old boy who became a quadriplegic during an unsupervised outing. A no offer case. (February, 1994)

Trials/Settlements in Auto Cases:

Chouinard v. Fortino & Farmers Insurance: A settlement in excess of $1 million dollars for a family whose husband/father was killed when the vehicle he was riding in as a passenger lost control in the snow. The settlement involved the negligent driver and the family's own Underinsured Motorist (UIM) coverage. (March 1999)

Romersa v. Pahlisch: A $1.1 million dollar settlement for "policy limits" where a teenage passenger sustained a brain injury from an auto accident. (March, 1999)

Bergeron v. USA: A $1.3 million dollar U.S. District Court of Oregon bench verdict for a widower who lost his leg and wife when a Fish and Wildlife semi-tractor crossed the road and hit the couple head-on. (June, 1997)

Beck v. State Farm Insurance: A "policy limits" jury verdict of $100,000 plus court-awarded attorney fees in a suit for a young man who sustained a back fusion after being hit by a driver who ran a traffic light. Significant for the court awarded attorney fees which were the first known award in Oregon for an underinsured driver (UIM) against one's own insurance company. (April, 1997)

Mandigo v. Interstate Distributor: A $325,000 jury verdict for a couple who were knocked off the roadway by a semi-truck, causing injuries including a subdural hematoma & related head injuries to the driver. (March, 1997)

McCarthy v. Laneguard, Inc.: A $1.2 million dollar jury verdict for the brain injury of a 36 year old woman due to improper highway maintenance. (1980)
