            • HERE ARE A FEW POINTERS FOR WITNESSES:

            • TELL THE TRUTH.

            • Don't Guess.

            • Take Your Time. Understand the question before you give an answer; If you don't understand ask the lawyer to repeat it.

            • Talk loud enough so everybody can hear.

            • Answer the question asked then stop.

            • Don't look at me for help: you're on your own.

            • Make estimates as to distances and time, make sure everyone understands it is an estimate.  Don't be too specific if you are not sure. "About" "Estimate" "Don't remember" "Approximately" are good words if you are unsure.

            • Know your name, address, age, date of marriage, children's names and ages.

            • Don't fence or argue with the other lawyer. He has a right to ask you questions. Don't smart talk, be evasive, and NEVER lose your temper.

            • Be courteous and polite.

            • Wear Church clothes; no shorts, hats, gum, weapons, cameras or small children.

            • Call the Judge "Your Honor."

            • If you are asked if you have visited with your lawyer, admit it, that's how we prepare for trial. By preparing, it doesn't mean I tell you what to say.

            • Avoid making jokes and wise cracks. This is always serious business.

            • Look the jury and the judge in the eye.

            • Give positive answers when you can.

            • If you were there and know what happened or didn't happen, don't be afraid to "swear" to it. Just tell what you rememer and let the lawyers sort it out.
