Michael Hornreich focuses his practice in the areas of construction law and construction litigation, in which he has wide-ranging experience in trial, arbitration and administrative proceedings. Prior to commencing his legal career, Mike was an engineer with Hazen & Sawyer, Civil Engineering Consultants in Hollywood, Florida, where he participated in the design of major wastewater treatment and disposal facilities, as well as for several major pulp and paper mills. Mike's professional knowledge is enhanced by his active leadership and involvement with the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America.

Professional Experience
Significant Representations
· Successfully represented numerous clients on projects valued up to $1 billion and has resolved claims ranging from $5 million to $50 million, and has a wide range of experience preparing and presenting major cases at trial, arbitration, and administrative proceedings.
· Counsel to power industry contractors, maintenance contractors, and major equipment suppliers. Guidance on proof of complex technical issues.
· Counsel to major aerospace industry contractor in the design and construction of launch facilities.
· Regularly counsels clients in pursuing recovery and defending against delays, defects, insurance and other indemnity claims in the high-rise condominium industry, industrial and power facilities, water resources facilities.
· Lead Trial Counsel for the Florida Department of Transportation for two cases that were successfully tried to a jury. In the first, FDOT obtained an eve-of-trial summary judgment on the contractor's claim for over $10M, and tried the FDOT's claims successfully. In the second, FDOT obtained a highly favorable jury verdict, defeating the contractor's claims for lost profit due to impaired bonding capacity and a measured mile claim, totaling over $40M with interest exposure.
· Simultaneously commenced, pursued and secured contractor recoveries of multi million dollar amounts -- both settlements were within three months of filing suit as a result of the strategies devised and aggressively pursued by Greenberg Traurig.
· Developed techniques for proving cases at trial that enable the presentation of compelling evidence of defects and other physical conditions.
· Represented the Construction Manager for the $375 million Orange County Convention Center and served as Assistant Counsel to the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority for major development activity for the 1988 expansion through the current billion dollar expansion.
