Olin Hale is a trial attorney and limits his practice to criminal defense and plaintiffs' personal injury law. He has been practicing criminal law for more than fourteen years and has handled hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases, including over fifty jury trials.
Mr. Hale has tried to a jury homicide cases, aggravated assault cases, conspiracy cases, white-collar cases, drug cases, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI). He has also written and argued criminal appeals at all levels of the courts, including the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit of Appeals, and Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Hale graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976. He then served in the United States Air Force as an officer stationed in West Germany from 1979-1983. In 1989, Mr. Hale received his Juris Doctorate of Law degree from Southern Methodist University, moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and went to work for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office as a prosecutor. He began working as a criminal defense attorney for O. Joseph Chornenky in 1990.
In 1991, Mr. Hale opened his own law practice with an emphasis on criminal defense and Plaintiffs' accident/injury law. In 1996, Mr. Hale obtained a half a million dollar jury verdict for a Plaintiff in a slip-and-fall case against Wal-Mart.
Mr. Hale has been admitted to practice law in the State of Arizona since 1989. He is also admitted to practice law in the United States District of Arizona, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United Supreme Court. Mr. Hale has represented clients for misdemeanor and felony charges in Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Mojave, Navajo, Yavapai, Yuma, and Apache County, Arizona. He represented a client in the reported decision of United States v. Ruiz, 73 F.3d 949 (9th Cir., 1996).
