These are matters we are involved in, for the benefit and betterment of the community:
- We recently sponsored Winter Walk 2006 for the Hudson Area Library, who offered Christmas food and decorations for sale in our reception area. There were costumed characters; Shrek and Mother Goose for interaction with children.
- Our reception area features artwork from local and New York City artists, which will rotate quarterly, and gives artists an opportunity for an opening and to sell their work.
- We handled the formation of the first food cooperative in Hudson. On a volunteer basis, we developed and filed the formation documents, and assisted the board of directors in enacting bylaws.
- We have asserted the public's right to speak at the Hudson Common Council Meetings, by imposing the NY Open Meetings Law.
- We have used the Freedom of Information Law to obtain various governmental documents to expose hidden connections and agendas.
- We have provided pro bono (no charge) legal representation to citizens of Hudson, who needed legal help, and had no other place to turn to.
- We have assisted numerous not-for-profit organizations in Hudson and Columbia County, to further their good work.
If you are a member of an organization that is looking for public speakers, including legal topics, Brian Herman is available to give a free presentation to your group. E-mail or call us to find out more.
Let us know how we can further help. Our policy is to be of service to the public.
