DAVID STONE ANNOUNCES HIS INTENTION TO SEEK NOMINATION FOR MAYOR

     On June 11, 2003 DAVID STONE filed with the Board of Elections to commence the formation and operation of the NEW ROCHELLE COMMITTEE TO ELECT DAVID STONE as Mayor of the City of New Rochelle. The naming of a Campaign Manager is pending at this time, and ANTHONY POERIO, CPA has been named as Treasurer of the organization.

     DAVID STONE is a fourth generation life long resident of New Rochelle, whose family in New Rochelle dates back to the mid 1800's, when his great grandparents, grandfather, great aunts and uncles lived on Sickles Avenue, which at that time was surrounded by farm land. Over the almost 150 years that has passed the family has grown and lived throughout the neighborhoods of the city- on Sickles Avenue, Pelham Road, Wykagyl Terrace, Seacord Road, Overlook Road, Highridge Road, Lyncroft Road- and has been active in the school district and in city government.

     DAVID STONE is an active member of the community, with a legal practice in town which concentrates on the representation of local residents and businesses. He serves as an Arbitrator of civil cases in the City Court of New Rochelle, is a member of the New Rochelle Bar Assoc., is on the Board of Directors of a school for children with learning disabilities, and serves on the Executive Board of the Westchester Independence Party in interviewing Judicial, Legislative and Executive candidates for public office. DAVID STONE donates his time to the free representation of battered women and children, aiding learning disabled students in obtaining accommodations at school, and the resolution of disputes between local residents.

     DAVID STONE is a long time member of Temple Israel on Pinebrook Blvd., and went to school in New Rochelle, attending Temple Israel Nursery School, Roosevelt Elementary School, Albert Leonard Jr. High School, and New Rochelle High School, before obtaining his undergraduate degree in 1983 from Boston University in Mass Communication, and graduate degree in Law from John Marshall in Chicago in 1990. DAVID STONE is admitted to the practice of law in the State and Federal courts of New York and New Jersey, and is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

     DAVID STONE resides in New Rochelle with his wife of 14 years, Nancy Stone, who is Senior Vice-President of San Francisco Networks, Inc., and his two children, Sam and Daniel. His parents, Herbert and Rosalyn Stone, live in New Rochelle and are active as volunteers in the public schools and the community when not spending time with their 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

     DAVID STONE and the New Rochelle Committee to Elect David Stone are actively obtaining signatures through the community for the placement of the candidate on the November Mayoral ballot, and await the filing of nominations by the New Rochelle INDEPENDENCE PARTY and other political parties with the Board of Elections. This site will be updated regularly.
