Mr. Cohen has been recognized as one of the most important divorce lawyers in the United States.

He has been lead counsel in some of the largest equitable distribution cases and most important custody cases in New York and in other jurisdictions. His clients have included many of the most accomplished people in various fields including finance, real estate, business, public service, music, and entertainment. He also regularly represents their spouses. In addition to litigating and trying matters in Court, the preponderance of his matters are settled by negotiation and mediation. He is a sought after lecturer and author on issues relating to divorce and pre-nuptial agreements. He appears as lead counsel in some one hundred reported cases and has been involved in the negotiation of more than two hundred pre-nuptial agreements and while practicing law full time authored an anti-divorce book, Reconcilable Differences, published by Simon & Schuster. His success, amongst numerous other publications, has been profiled by the "Wall Street Journal" and the "New York Times" where he was referred to as "one of the most powerful divorce lawyers in the United States."
