Welcome to my web site.  I and my legal assistant are here to help you.  This site will give you some information about Ohio Law and local practice and information about me.

The foundation of my practice for over the past 26 years has been and remains exemplary academic credentials, unwavering integrity and hard work combined with my dedication to obtaining fair, realistic, cost effective and expeditious resolutions for my clients.  I know when compromise is appropriate and when it is not.  My staff comprises an invaluable legal assistant, Susie Simmons, who has been my assistant for ten years and shares my work ethics and values, including commitment to the client.

I firmly believe that every effort should be made to resolve legal issues and disputes by settlement, if at all possible.  Years of experience have taught me that contested litigation, while sometimes unfortunately absolutely necessary (given the nature of some legal issues, the parties or opposing counsel), for most people should be a last resort, not a first resort.  Litigation is extremely costly and often results in financial damage for everyone except the lawyers, to say nothing of increased animosity, minor children who are profoundly affected and may suffer emotional and psychological scars for a lifetime, and an overall negative experience that may be devastating, even to the party who purportedly ultimately "wins."  This is not to infer that resolving legal issues is ever without significant emotional and financial costs, but only to emphasize that a decision to litigate should be made only after alternatives to reaching resolution and settlement either do not work or it is determined the alternatives are unlikely to work in a particular case.

I hope this web site is helpful to you.  However, the information presented is necessarily limited, and I encourage you to contact my office.  When you call, you will first speak with my assistant.  She will determine your circumstances, give you basic information about how I proceed in any given matter.  If for any reason I am not a good match for you and you do not come in for an initial in-office consultation, we will strive to provide the names of several other attorneys whom I highly regard and who may be better suited to represent you in a given matter.
