After having won the University of California Chancellor's Award in Music, Michael Shilub graduated from UCLA in 1981 with a degree in Music and then studied International Law at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France. Two years prior to graduation he won a scholarship in French Literature and attended the University of Nice in Nice, France, as well as attended Ecoles des Arts Americaines de Fontainebleau, France during the summer of 1978. In 1982 he began a judicial Externship with the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

After graduating from Loyola Law School in 1983, Michael worked for10 years with several established firms, including Parkinson, Wolf, Lazar & Leo, Spray, Gould & Bowers and Lewis, D'Amato, Brisbois and Bisgaard. His focus was defense work for institutions, often dealing with insurance and professional malpractice issues.

In 1993 he opened his own practice where he handles a wide range of civil matters, including all sorts of contract negotiations and litigation, many entertainment related issues and contracts, partnership dissolutions, accounting actions, real estate litigation, legal malpractice, trust litigation and insurance litigation, including bad faith and significant personal injury cases. During his 24 years as an attorney he has handled numerous large, complex cases, representing plaintiffs and defendants, and both individuals and corporations, throughout California. He has extensive trial experience and holds a very successful trial record. Mr. Shilub has been involved in hundreds of personal injury cases and is fortunate enough to be among the select few who have obtained more than a million dollars in settlements or verdicts.

Mr. Shilub has handled a number of appeals cases and is admitted to practice before all the state and federal courts in California, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Federal District Court, New York District. He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles.
