About This Firm

Katz Barron Squitero Faust is a full-service commercial firm with offices in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Since our founding in 1977, we have built and maintained client relationships based on exceptional work, outstanding client service and cost-conscious strategies. We deliver results-oriented legal advice to clients in real estate, corporate and business transactions, commercial litigation, taxation, immigration, estate planning and environmental matters. Close collaboration between the firm's practice areas ensures our clients effective, efficient representation.

Katz Barron's Real Estate Practice Group offers comprehensive representation in all aspects of real estate development, investment and finance, and has done so through multiple market cycles. Real estate subspecialties include retail development and leasing, construction, hospitality and private club and club community representation.

Our Litigation Practice Group has achieved excellent results for our clients in complex commercial cases before state and federal trial and appellate courts and in arbitration proceedings and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Our expertise encompasses all major areas of civil disputes, including corporate and other business organization disputes, breach of contract cases, business torts, labor and employment disputes, commercial general liability insurance coverage and liability defense, and real estate cases (including title insurance defense, mortgage foreclosure and disputes related to acquisition, development, leasing, sale and brokerage). We have substantial experience in the specialized areas of construction and securities disputes.

Katz Barron's Corporate and Business Practice Group counsels clients on matters ranging from entity formations and day-to-day business operations, to closing major transactions and financing. We have structured, negotiated and implemented mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of private companies, stock and asset sales and acquisitions, transfers of controlling and minority interests and the creation of joint ventures.

The Taxation Practice Group provides sophisticated and innovative tax counseling and representation to businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals, both foreign and domestic. We guide clients in structuring real estate, corporate and other commercial transactions, provide tax analysis and advice on business operations and personal planning, inbound and outbound tax matters, and asset protection planning, as well as dispute resolution with federal and state tax authorities including audit defense, administrative representation and appeals.

The firm's Estate Planning, Administration and Probate Practice Group advises U.S. and foreign clients on estate planning and wealth protection to minimize estate, gift and generation skipping taxes. Our work includes the planning and creation of trusts, wills, family partnerships, and revocable and irrevocable domestic and offshore trusts, and pre-nuptial agreements, as well as the planning and transferring of ownership and control of closely held and family owned businesses. We represent clients in significant estate and gift tax controversies, including business valuations, and routinely handle complex and adversarial situations arising in the administration of trusts and probate estates.

In our Environmental Practice Group, we specialize in evaluating environmental risks, litigating and defending environmental claims, negotiating with federal, state and local environmental agencies, and navigating the regulatory processes. We help clients obtain development approvals, recover costs of environmental cleanups, and minimize the environmental risks associated with acquiring and owning property, operating businesses and managing hazardous wastes.

Katz Barron's Immigration and International Practice Group concentrates on business related immigration, immigration worksite compliance and international transactions, with a focus on consular processing, business visas, skilled-worker and family immigration, immigration audits and compliance programs at all companies, whether large or small. We advise clients on in-bound and outbound international transactions, including cross-border transactions and finance, development and implementation of tax-efficient structures for cross-border business operations and transactions, and drafting arbitration covenants under WTO regulations and other multi-lateral arbitration treaties.

About Client Rating
About Peer Rating

Welcome to Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review, a new ratings service that allows you to view and provide feedback on a lawyer or law firm on service and relationship qualities such as Communication Ability, Responsiveness, Quality of Service, and Value for Money.

Determining a Rating

The Client Review Rating is determined through aggregation of validated responses. This compilation of Client Reviews translates to a numerical rating and associate descriptive term on a scale of 1 -5. 1 being lowest as "Rated" and 5 being highest as "Preeminent".

  • 4.5-5.0 Preeminent
  • 3.0-4.4 Distinguished
  • 1-2.9 Rated

Martindale-Hubbell uses a third-party resource to validate that the respondent is a living person, but cannot confirm the lawyer/client relationship, which in many cases is confidential. Clients must affirm that they are a client of the lawyer or firm identified for review at the time of the completed Client Review.

The Reviewers

Those who complete Client Reviews are clients of law firms who hired a lawyer within the last year, whose matter is not pending, and want to share their experience of that lawyer or law firm with other potential clients. Reviewers can be of any type from in-house counsel, corporate executives, small business owners to private individuals, and even sometimes another lawyer in a different jurisdiction.

Anonymity

Client Reviews are anonymous and reviewers' identities are not published; however a summary of basic demographics will be part of the display of responses.

Why do we collect demographics as part of the review?

Those who are researching a lawyer or law firm like to see that there are other clients who might be "like them". This is valuable information contributing to the decision-making process of hiring a lawyer.

Martindale-Hubbell's role

Martindale-Hubbell facilitates the process of Client Review by gathering responses, validating them and aggregating results for display online. The content of the responses are entirely from reviewers, the clients of the firm or lawyer.

It is important to note that Martindale-Hubbell does not undertake to develop Client Reviews for all firms and lawyers. Therefore, the fact that a firm or lawyer has not been reviewed should not be construed unfavorably. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome and Martindale-Hubbell accepts no responsibility for the content or accuracy of any review over which Martindale-Hubbell exercises no editorial review or control.
