He was a partner a major Oregon law firm for 10 years and headed their Immigration Practice Group. Mr. Meltzer established his own firm in order to be able to devote more time to his immigration clients. Mr. Meltzer also has a broad range of experience in business law including mergers and acquisitions, computer and Internet contracts, securities, and regulatory compliance, and continues to represent a large publicly traded financial services company with respect to nonimmigration matters. Mr. Meltzer is a graduate of the Yale Law School, holds a Ph.D. degree, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Williams College. He is active in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has served on the Executive Committees of the Oregon State Bar Securities and International Law Sections and on the Oregon State Bar Legal Ethics Committee. Mr. Meltzer is fluent in Spanish and writes an immigration column for a Spanish newspaper. He has been a speaker at various immigration conferences and has appeared on Spanish television and radio.
