McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates announces that Senior Associate Attorney Stacey H. Tarte has been named Co-Chair of the Richland County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Committee. Ms. Tarte is an adjunct professor at Orangeburg/Calhoun Technical College and serves on their Paralegal/Legal Assistant Advisory Board. She is also a member of the Orangeburg Bar Association. Ms. Tarte manages the Orangeburg office of McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates at 198 Docket Street and also works out of the Columbia office located at 1807 Hampton Street. She recently hosted a free Workers' Compensation clinic open to the public at the Orangeburg Public Library sponsored by the South Carolina Bar Pro Bono Clinic Program.

McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates announces that Associate Attorney Daniel E. Peagler of their Lexington and Sumter offices, has accepted a part-time position as Prosecutor for the City of Cayce. In addition, he is also the Prosecutor for the town of South Congaree. Mr. Peagler practices personal injury law out of the McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates office at 119 East Main Street in Lexington as well as the Sumter office at 8 Law Range. He recently hosted a free Workers' Compensation Clinic open to the public at the downtown Sumter Library sponsored by the South Carolina Pro Bono Clinic program. McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates serves the greater Midlands with additional offices in Columbia, Orangeburg, Camden and Newberry.

McWhirter, Bellinger & A ssociates announces that Associate Attorney Joseph R. Dasta of their Columbia and Camden offices, has been transferred to a Judge Advocate General Unity, the 12th Legal Support Organization, in the United States Army Reserves based at Fort Jackson. Prior to his transfer to the 12th LSO, Mr. Dasta served as Company Commander for Charlue Company, 1/321st, 108th Training Division, at Fort Jackson. Mr. Dasta was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1990 after serving two years in the University of South Carolina's Army ROTC program. His most recent promotion was to Captain in April, 1999. In addition, he assists fellow associate Daniel E. Peagler in prosecuting traffic and criminal cases for the city of Cayce where Mr. Peagler serves as City Prosecutor. Mr. Dasta practices personal injury law out of the McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates offices at 1807 Hampton Street in Columbia, and 623 West DeKalb Street, in Camden. He also recently served as a volunteer judge for the National High School Mock Trial Competition hosted by the South Carolina Bar in Columbia.
