Firm Overview
Mays, Byrd & Associates, P.A., was established in 1977 as a general practice law firm. Over the course of two decades, our attorneys have gained valuable litigation experience and knowledge of ever-changing case law.
We represent individuals who have been injured in automobile and 18-wheeler accidents, by medical malpractice and through other forms of negligence. We also handle all family law and domestic relations matters, including divorce. Our firm also is skilled at meeting individuals’ estate planning needs, including wills, trusts and probate.
Business clients depend on our firm for legal counsel regarding all aspects of their operation. We deal expertly with employment law issues and handle all types of business litigation, including contract issues.
Our firm also serves governmental entities with advice regarding their powers and liabilities, as well as public finance issues.
We are able to do all of this because of specialized support that includes personal injury case managers, legal assistants, law clerks and an administrative support staff. We also maximize resources and minimize expenses through wise allocation.
We are proud to count among our clients Sears, Johnson & Johnson, J.M. Products, Inc., Gannett, Cellar Door Concerts, Inc., local municipalities and non-profit community-based organizations. Since 1993, Mays, Byrd & Associates, P.A. has cultivated and developed representation as bond counsel and underwriter counsel in the area of municipal finance.
Our firm has earned a reputation as a leader in the legal, political and civic arenas. Senior partner Richard L. Mays is a former Arkansas Supreme Court justice and all of our attorneys are distinguished members of several professional and community organizations. Each of our attorneys devotes personal time to non-profit community groups.
