Biography:
Ms. Byrd received her B.A. Degree from the University of Arkansas as Fayetteville in 1974. She was awarded her J.D. Degree from the University in 1978. Ms. Byrd is also a former fellow of the Institute of Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. She is a member of the Arkansas Bar, the bars of the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She is a member of the Arkansas Bar Associates, the Pulaski County Bar Association and the W. Harold Flower Law Society (National Bar Associate Affiliate). Prior to associating with Mays, Byrd & Associates, P.A., Ms. Byrd served as a staff attorney for the Women's Legal Defense Fund in Washington, D.C. (now the National Partnership for Women & Families). In that position, Ms. Byrd was involved in the development of national public policy in the areas of gender and race equity.
