Mary A. Lentz, Co., L.P.A.

Mary A. Lentz is a Chagrin Falls, Ohio lawyer and a former public school teacher on the secondary level (grades 7-12) who specializes in public and private school law.  She is an attorney since 1973 and has served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (Cuyahoga County, Ohio) in the Criminal Division and as a Municipal Police Prosecutor for the City of Westlake, Ohio.  Ms. Lentz also writes, lectures and teaches locally and nationally on legal issues in the area of school law and school safety and provides workshops to public and private school administrators and teachers.  She also instructs School Resource Officers who are assigned as police officers in a school setting.  She is certified by the Ohio Attorney General/Ohio Peace Officer Training Council to instruct Ohio police officers in police training academies.

Ms. Lentz is the Editor in Chief of the Ohio School Law Journal published by WestGroup Law Publishers.  Her publications are also include A Parent's Guide: Preventing Child Sexual Abuse and a curriculum for Kindergarten-12th Grades on child sexual abuse prevention and making safe choices.  

Author of Lentz School Security published by Thomson-West, a handbook for public and private school administrators, school board members, school attorneys and school resource officers.  Topics include search and seizure in public and private schools, interviewing children victims and witnesses, school safety plans, conflict resolution, criminal behaviors in the school setting, and school/law enforcement partnerships.
