KLF represents numerous Turkish companies doing business in the U.S. and various U.S. companies and individuals doing business in Turkey. Mr. Karaahmetoglu who is admitted in practice both in New York and Istanbul heads KLF’s Turkish practice.
KLF provides a wide range of services to Turkish companies in their dealings in the U.S. including but not limited to: establishing their corporate identities, office leases, negotiate international transactions providing relevant international and domestic law counsel. KLF’s clients are active in a broad range of industries; including banking, construction, jewelry, publishing, software development, textiles and apparel, telecommunications and transportation.
KLF works closely with its Istanbul affiliate firm, K&K Hukuk Firmasi, (“K&K”) which was established in 1949 by Hon. Sureyya Petekkaya, former High Criminal Court judge. For over 20 years, the Firm has been managed by Dr. Mehmet N. Karaahmetoglu, graduate of University of Istanbul School of Law. In addition, Dr. Karaahmetoglu received his Doctorate in 1974 from Frei University in Berlin, Germany. After teaching at Frei University School of Law for two years, Dr. Karaahmetoglu returned to Turkey where he taught courses in contracts and corporate law for many years at law schools and business schools. K&K also has an extensive intellectual law practice which is headed by Ms. Berna N. Karaahmetoglu.
