John W. Beaman began the general practice of law in New Bern, North Carolina in 1937 and continued, without interruption, but for World War II army service, until his death in 1984. In February, 1968, the partnership of Beaman & Kellum was formed with the addition of Norman B. Kellum, Jr. The firm has undergone several name changes through the years but has been the Kellum Law Firm since January, 2000. The firm limits its practice to Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Social Security, Defective Products, Mass Torts, Workers' Compensation Cases and Insurance Law. John T. Briggs joined the firm in December, 1994 after serving as a U.S. Navy JAGC Officer in Japan. Russell L. Needell joined the firm in March, 1997 after practicing in New Jersey and Charlotte, North Carolina. J. Kevin Jones joined the firm in July, 1998 after practicing in Carteret County for over 5 years in the areas of personal injury and workers' compensation. Douglas Bruce Johnson joined the firm in March, 2000 after several years of practice in Albemarle, North Carolina. Brian Christopher (Chris) Daniels joined the firm in April, 2000 after passing the NC Bar exam in February, 2000 and clerking for the District Attorney's Office, 9th District, North Carolina. The practice is conducted mainly in eastern North Carolina with offices in New Bern, Jacksonville, Greenville, Goldsboro and Rocky Mount. |
