Michael A. Nelson was formerly in-house counsel for Cigna Insurance Corporation.  He has represented several school districts, companies and corporations.  He has also represented the City of Spokane as an assistant city attorney and was a legal advisor to the Spokane Police Department.  His practice includes products liability, employment law and civil matters.

Mr. Nelson has a strong background in law enforcement, having served with the Salt Lake City Police Department for five years.  He continues to be involved with the education and training of new police officers.  He participates in mock trials for the Spokane County Police Academy to train officers in court procedures and testimony as well as judging Linden Cup and Moot Court competitions for Gonzaga University School of Law.

He is an avid outdoorsman who raises horses and enjoys hunting and fishing.  A short biographical summary is provided below.
