Since 1989, Mr. Silverman has served as a member of the panel of United States Bankruptcy Trustees for both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and has previously served as a member of the Pro Bono Panel of Bankruptcy attorneys for both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Since May 2, 1994, Mr. Silverman has served as a member of the Register of Mediators for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York. As a member of the trustee panels, he is frequently appointed to operate, reorganize and/or liquidate major national, regional, and metropolitan business concerns under both Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Silverman is a published author and a recognized lecturer on bankruptcy and bankruptcy/matrimonial related issues. Mr. Silverman is a former Adjunct Professor of Law at the St. John's University School of Law in its Bankruptcy LL.M. Program.
