The ongoing internationalization of business and commerce highlights the increasing need for competent legal counsel in the immigration field, as well as other particular areas of the law. Timely facilitation of the movement of international business personnel requires detailed and specific knowledge and support.

Our practice primarily focuses in the areas of legal and business related immigration, although we do take family related immigration cases. We currently service a select number of multinational corporations in the procurement of work authorization documents for the entry of professional nonimmigrant labor. Additionally, we routinely facilitate employment-based permanent resident status in all labor preferences.

Our firm's immigration attorneys are available to assist in the strategic management of personnel transfers into and out of the United States and to steer clients through the process of obtaining individual immigration benefits, including nonimmigrant visas, permanent residence and U.S. citizenship. Our immigration attorneys also advise clients concerning the employer sanctions and anti-discrimination provisions of the immigration law.We shepherd our clients through the processing requirements of the state and federal agencies to insure efficient and timely delivery of immigration documents.

Besides assisting our client with immigration related matters, our firm also provides assistance in several other areas of law, including: international law, commerical and corporate litigation, employment law, and governmental authority.

Experience

 

  • Corporate governance experience : 
  • Experience in corporate mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, restructuring, and reincorporations involving oil and gas companies, refineries, shipyards, auto companies, telecommunications providers, steel manufacturers, business forms publishers, health care providers, banks and biotech companies.
  • Securities experience in SEC disclosure issues, Sarbanes-Oxley issues, Exchange Act reporting, stock exchange issues, registration statements on Forms S-1, S-2, S-3 and S-4, proxy solicitation, trust preferred securities offerings, private and public offerings and blue sky matters. 
  • Function as outside immigration counsel to several public companies.  
  • International experience in joint ventures, privatization, international agreements, including petroleum, technology, distributors, construction, sale, services,  cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, Experience in domestic and international finance, trade finance and project finance. 
  • Experience in negotiating and drafting complex  telecommunications and technology agreements, including software licenses, software development, , purchase, tariffs, service and B2B membership agreements; representation of international interexchange providers on regulatory matters with FCC and PUC's.
