Silvia Surman is an associate attorney at the Henke Law firm, LLP.  She was born in former  Czechoslovakia and relocated to the United States to attend the University of Houston wherein she concentrated on studies of political science, Spanish and French.  Ms. Surman graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2002 with Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and minor in Spanish.  After graduation from University of Houston, Ms. Surman joined the law firm of Shepherd, Smith & Bebel, P.C. in Houston, Texas as a paralegal in the area of securities litigation and arbitration. 

            Ms. Surman obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in 2007.  Ms. Surman became licensed to practice in Texas in November of 2007 and joined Henke Law firm, LLP.               

            Ms. Surman is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the International Association of Young Lawyers as well as the Frank Evans Centre for Dispute Resolution wherein she became licensed as a mediator.     

            Ms. Surman is fluent in Slovak and Czech.  She converses in Spanish and German.
