Bill Gange is a graduate of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law, Class of 1979.  His practice is focussed on civil litigation, insurance law, intellectual property litigation, administrative law, wrongful dismissal, commercial litigation and arbitration work.  He provides advice to regulatory bodies including several health care associations. Bill has acted on behalf of a number of insurers who provide liability coverage to professionals including insurance agents, lawyers, engineers and architects.

Bill is a Bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba, having been elected in 2002, 2004 and 2006. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Canadian Lawyers Insurance Association.  He has been a presenter at seminars sponsored by the Continuing Legal Education division of the LSM.  Topics include "Punitive and Exemplary Damages: Recent Developments",  "Limitation of Actions: Reconciling the Case Law",  "Effective Pretrial Practice", and "Civil Motions Court Practice under the Revised Queen's Bench Rules".  He regularly presents seminars for the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba on the legal duties of insurance brokers.  He has presented seminars on legal liabilities to the Manitoba Land Surveyors Association,  the Manitoba Child Care Association,  the Canadian Association of Pre-Retirement Planners, the Chartered Life Underwriters Association(Manitoba Chapter) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba.  Bill has been a regular contributor to the Bar Admission course in Manitoba having participated in the courses on civil litigation, negotiating techniques and ethics.  He has been a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba and at the University of Winnipeg.  He has served on the organizing committees of the Canadian Bar Convention and the Pitblado Lectures.

Bill has also been active in the community in volunteer roles.  He served on the Board of the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra during the period 1993 to 2003 and was Board president from 1997 to 2000. He served on the Board of CARFAC, a visual artists organization.  He has been on the Lawyers Assistance Committee, has served as a baseball coach for his local community club and was the Commissioner of the Bar Association Baseball League.  In addition, he has been a classroom volunteer for Wolseley School since 1988.  He has also been a regular contributor/performer at the Manitoba Bar Association Beer and Skits nights performing satirical songs, none of which have resulted in defamation notices, to date.
