WORKER'S COMPENSATION. In most circumstances, if someone is injured on the job, they are entitled to worker's compensation benefits. Worker's compensation benefits are payable regardless of whether anyone was at fault.
FAMILY LAW. Many different legal issues can be involved in what is collectively referred to as "Family Law". If children are involved, whether or not the parents are married, then issues relating to Paternity, Child Custody, Visitation, Grandparents' Rights, Child Support, and the Family Home and Personal Property can arise. If the parties have been married, then they may have to deal with several different matters during the course of a Divorce, such as Grounds, Alimony, division of Marital Property (including assets such as Real Estate, Pensions, Bank Accounts, Personal Property, Life Insurance, Vehicles, etc.), as well as the parties' Debts. These matters may be resolved by way of a what is commonly called a Marital Settlement Agreement or Voluntary Separation and Property Settlement Agreement, or may have to be handled by arbitration or mediation, or in court.
CRIMINAL. These cases can include a variety of criminal charges as well as serious traffic violations, such as Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Driving Without Insurance, and Driving on a Suspended License. Representation is essential in these cases since a conviction could result in not only jail time, but in the loss or suspension of a driver's license.
