Scot D. Goldberg

Attorney in Fort Myers, FL
I’m a proud native of Fort Myers, Florida, and my local roots here have helped me plan my career as a lawyer in this community. Since a very young age, I’ve always had a passion for helping people, especially when they are in trouble, either hurt in an accident that wasn’t their fault, or some other problem that requires legal help. I decided to dedicate my career to the practice of personal injury law, and to defending people who have been arrested for or accused of a crime. That’s where I felt I could do the most good.

The people I’ve come to know and have helped over my nearly 20 years as an attorney in Southwest Florida have been the key to shaping my goals in my chosen profession – to do the very best I can on their behalf, and to make sure their full legal rights are aggressively protected.

I began my law career as an Assistant State Attorney with the 20th Judicial Circuit, and am a member of The Florida Bar, the Lee County Personal Injury Association, The Lee County Bar Association, The Federal Bar Association, The Federal Court of the Middle and Northern Districts, The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. I hold a Criminology degree from the University of South Florida, and attained my Juris Doctor from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

While working in the State Attorney’s office, I received certification in Juvenile Justice and Delinquency from the U.S. Department of Justice. Working with and listening to kids who need real help has been one of the most rewarding parts of my legal career. I enjoy being closely involved with many local community and civic organizations, and you can read more about that here: http://www.goldberg-law.com/community-involvement/

After the State Attorney’s office, I went to work with a large local law firm as a trial attorney, and also developed some truly remarkable relationships along the way. In 2000, I teamed up with attorneys Mike Noone, Ray Racila and Joe D’Alessandro to start our own personal injury law firm. We’ve been fortunate to have discovered real and lasting friendships with our clients over our years in business, and that is what I am most proud of. To see some short videos on some our thoughts on how we run our law firm, or to download any of our free reports on a variety of topics that will answer some of your legal questions, please click here: http://www.goldberg-law.com/resources/

I’m not exactly like many other attorneys you may know. My clients can reach me day or night, weekends too. I do enjoy a lot of the great outdoor life we have here, as you may notice in my picture above. But my clients all get my cell phone number and they can rest assured I’ll always return any missed calls, and fast. As a person and as your attorney, I want to always be available to help you through your situation.

You can see on our website that attorneys at our firm have attained the highest possible AV Preeminent attorney rating by Martindale-Hubbell, and are members of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. You can also read what other attorneys I’ve worked with have to say about my work ethic at my AVVO Attorney profile, here: http://www.avvo.com/attorneys/33901-fl-scot-goldberg-1239615.html

But what I’d really like you to know is that I love what I do, and that’s helping people who have been hurt through no fault of their own, or who may be in some kind of legal trouble and don’t know where to turn. By listening to your concerns about your personal situation, I go to work for you, standing up to unrelenting insurance giants and making sure you receive everything you deserve under the law.

If you find yourself in a difficult legal situation, or if you or a loved one have been seriously hurt in any type of accident and you need help, call me. It won’t cost a dime to sit down and talk about the details of your situation and find out how we can help. About Client Rating
    About Peer Rating

Welcome to Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review, a new ratings service that allows you to view and provide feedback on a lawyer or law firm on service and relationship qualities such as Communication Ability, Responsiveness, Quality of Service, and Value for Money.

    Determining a Rating

The Client Review Rating is determined through aggregation of validated responses. This compilation of Client Reviews translates to a numerical rating and associate descriptive term on a scale of 1 -5. 1 being lowest as "Rated" and 5 being highest as "Preeminent".

    • 4.5-5.0 Preeminent
    • 3.0-4.4 Distinguished
    • 1-2.9 Rated

Martindale-Hubbell uses a third-party resource to validate that the respondent is a living person, but cannot confirm the lawyer/client relationship, which in many cases is confidential. Clients must affirm that they are a client of the lawyer or firm identified for review at the time of the completed Client Review.

    The Reviewers

Those who complete Client Reviews are clients of law firms who hired a lawyer within the last year, whose matter is not pending, and want to share their experience of that lawyer or law firm with other potential clients. Reviewers can be of any type from in-house counsel, corporate executives, small business owners to private individuals, and even sometimes another lawyer in a different jurisdiction.

    Anonymity

Client Reviews are anonymous and reviewers' identities are not published; however a summary of basic demographics will be part of the display of responses.

Why do we collect demographics as part of the review?

Those who are researching a lawyer or law firm like to see that there are other clients who might be "like them". This is valuable information contributing to the decision-making process of hiring a lawyer.

    Martindale-Hubbell's role

Martindale-Hubbell facilitates the process of Client Review by gathering responses, validating them and aggregating results for display online. The content of the responses are entirely from reviewers, the clients of the firm or lawyer.

It is important to note that Martindale-Hubbell does not undertake to develop Client Reviews for all firms and lawyers. Therefore, the fact that a firm or lawyer has not been reviewed should not be construed unfavorably. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome and Martindale-Hubbell accepts no responsibility for the content or accuracy of any review over which Martindale-Hubbell exercises no editorial review or control.
