Biography:

Since graduating from the University of Dayton College of Law in 1998, Attorney Lavin has focused his practice on Elder Law serving the needs of senior citizens. His practice includes the areas of estate and retirement asset planning with a specific concentration on qualifying seniors for nursing home benefits, overcoming probate issues, and the comprehensive use of trusts, wills and powers of attorney.

Attorney Lavin previously worked for Pro Seniors, Inc. in Cincinnati where he assisted seniors with diverse Elder Law issues, including Nursing Home Planning. Attorney Lavin now serves as the managing partner of the Lebanon office of the Thom L. Cooper Co., L.P.A.

Attorney Lavin is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and serves on the Elder Law Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Association. Attorney Lavin is a frequent lecturer for various professional groups on legal issues affecting seniors including the Warren County Alzheimer's Association, the Ohio Parkinson's Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the National Heart Association and the Ohio Tax Attorney Society. Lavin also teaches Medicaid to attorneys and other professionals for the National Business Institute (NBI). Attorney Lavin co-authored Cooper Attorneys Answer 101 Questions About Estate Planning and Living Trusts.
