Eckman Strandness & Egan, P.A.
About Our Firm

Eckman Strandness & Egan has been successfully prosecuting personal injury cases since 1979. Over the years, we've become one of the most highly regarded law firms in the Upper Midwest, and one with a tradition of caring for our clients.

The high standards we adhere to are set by our three founding members.

Stephen Eckman, our senior partner, is a former Governor of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He's also past president and board member of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association. And he was chosen by the Supreme Court to help draft the rules of operation for Minnesota civil courts.

Paul Strandness has a wide range of legal experience. He's represented victims of motor vehicle accidents, railroad accidents, defective products, and medical negligence. He has also served as an arbitrator in numerous no-fault insurance disputes. Both he and Stephen Eckman are certified as Civil Trial Advocates by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Mike Egan was first in his class at William Mitchell College of Law, and he has a degree in finance as well. Mike knows how to structure settlements and awards so they work well for our clients, especially in complicated cases where there are several victims. He resolved more than 600 Dalkon Shield IUD cases, in addition to hundreds of other personal injury cases.

Collectively, our attorneys belong to the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association, the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

We're admitted to practice before the Minnesota Supreme Court; the United States District Courts for the Districts of Minnesota, North Dakota, Western Michigan, Eastern Wisconsin, Western Wisconsin, and Central Illinois; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh, Eighth, Nine and Tenth Circuit
