Douglas E. Rowe is a partner in the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP. He brings to the firm a broad range of expertise in labor and employment law, including claims alleging discrimination based upon race, sex, religion, national origin, age and disability, as well as sexual harassment, wage and hour issues, labor arbitrations, and defense of employment-related claims under federal and state statutes.

He counsels on and litigates issues relating to restrictive covenants and trade secrets. By initiating preventive counseling on company policies and other personnel matters, Mr. Rowe helps clients keep costs down and avoid litigation. He also prepares and negotiates employment agreements.

A seasoned litigator at the state and federal level, Mr. Rowe has significant appellate experience. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. In 2011, 2013 and 2014, Mr. Rowe was named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list. This honor recognizes top attorneys in their respective areas of practice, and only five percent of lawyers in the New York Metro area are named to the list. In 2013, Long Island Pulse Magazine awarded Mr. Rowe a ""Legal Eagle"" in the category of Employment Law.

In 1981, he earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland. Mr. Rowe is a member of the New York and Nassau County Bar Associations.

The Reviewers

Those who complete Client Reviews are clients of law firms who hired a lawyer within the last year, whose matter is not pending, and want to share their experience of that lawyer or law firm with other potential clients. Reviewers can be of any type from in-house counsel, corporate executives, small business owners to private individuals, and even sometimes another lawyer in a different jurisdiction.
