Debra M. Salisbury was born in Westerly, Rhode Island and has been a resident of the State of Florida since 1980. Ms. Salisbury obtained her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, and she holds a Master of Science Degree in Nursing fom the University of Florida. She maintains her Nurse Practitioner/Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.

She received her law degree with honors from Stetson University College of Law. She is a member of the Florida Bar and the Sarasota County Bar Association since 1993, and she is a member of the Florida Adoption Council. In addition, she is currently a member of the Sarasota Florida Association For Women Lawyers, Inc. and has previously served as a Board Member and as President of said organization. She served as the chairperson of the Child Witness Room which was developed at the Sarasota County Judicial Center and is utilized in obtaining the testimony of children.

Ms. Salisbury practices in the areas of adoptions, grandparent adoptions, step-parent adoptions, paternity, disestablishment of paternity, child support, family law, dependency law, civil litigation, social security disability law, and collections.
