Mr. West is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and is Board Certified by The Florida Bar as a Criminal Trial Specialist. He has been Board Certified since 1987, the first year Criminal Trial Certification in Florida was available. His practice is limited to Criminal Defense. Mr. West has extensive experience in capital litigation and represents those accused of homicide, sex offenses, drug and alcohol-related offenses and complex white collar crimes. He lectures on state and federal criminal law issues and one of his death penalty trials was recently featured on Court TV. He has been peer selected as a "Leading Florida Attorney" for several consecutive years. He is past president of the Central Florida Criminal Defense Attorneys Association and a former director of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys.
