Our Legal Skills Work For You

Our Legal Skills Work For You.

To those who seek our help with their disability cases, Ted and Dave are knowledgeable, understanding friends, with years of professional legal experience in the field.

Ted graduated with honors in economics from Princeton University in 1970. He was awarded a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1973 from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in administrative law. Before entering private practice in 1979, Ted was a senior attorney with Community Legal Services, Inc., in Philadelphia.

Dave graduated with honors in economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992.  He was awarded a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in 1995 from the Temple University School of Law, where he received the William R. Spofford Scholarship and distinguished performance in clinicals with the Camden County Office of the Prosecutor and Camden County Office of the Public Defender.

We Know Social Security Disability Law.

Unlike attorneys in general practice, Ted Walkenhorst, Esq. and David R. Machek, Esq. concentrate their legal practice in representing people who are unable to work and who have been denied disability benefits by the Social Security Administration.

Our Clients Turn to Us For Many Reason, Some Include:

  1. We are experienced. Ted has practiced law since 1973 and Dave since 1995.  We have over 40 years of legal experience.
  2. We win cases. Ted and Dave have won disability benefits for more than 90% of the clients that we have represented.
  3. We care about our clients. Ted and Dave give every case personal attention.
  4. We keep up-to-date with the latest changes in the law through our membership in the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives.
  5. We work with a staff who are as dedicated to our clients as we are.

Our Focus on Disability Cases Helps You.

Because Ted Walkenhorst, Esq. and David R. Machek, Esq. limit our practice to disability cases, we know how to successfully navigate the complicated, confusing, impersonal and ever-changing bureaucratic legal process.

Under Social Security law, winning a case demands much more than just a doctor's statement regarding the patient's inability to work. At the Disability Benefits Law Center, we perform the needed evidence development, interpretation of regulations and pre-hearing client preparation that can make the difference in achieving a successful result.

Our Fees are Affordable and Controlled by Law.

The cost of legal help for disability benefits cases is regulated and reviewed by the Social Security Administration itself. The fee is 25% of your retroactive benefits, capped at an officially set limit. Future benefits are yours fully.

The Disability Benefits Law Center receives payment only if you win benefits through our representation. If not, you pay only out-of-pocket costs such as expenses for obtaining your medical records.
