John Chambers divides his time between commercial real estate matters and local government representation. John currently acts as general counsel to the Village of Yellow Springs, OH and serves as special counsel to other local governments in the region on selected matters. He is active representing a wide variety of clients in commercial real estate matters with special expertise in zoning and land use matters. He has served as Chairman of the Dayton Bar Association Real Property Committee. John also has served as Secretary of the Ohio Chapter of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (“NAIOP”) and as Public Affairs Chairman for the Dayton Chapter of NAIOP. He is a frequent lecturer on zoning and land use issues and on public sector matters.

John has been listed in Ohio Super Lawyers magazine and was most recently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2012 in the fields of Real Estate Law, Land Use & Zoning Law and Litigation-Land Use & Zoning. John has been recognized by Best Lawyers since 1999 and Ohio Super Lawyers since 2004.

John Chambers speaks to Miami Valley Communications Council

Coolidge Wall attorney John C. Chambers recently participated in a seminar for elected officials in southwest Ohio conducted by the Miami Valley Communications Council. John spoke to the officials about the Council-Manager Form of Government, and later in the seminar on Planning and Zoning matters from the perspective of an elected official.

“Your expertise, along with the information and viewpoints you shared, were valuable and very well received. The program evaluations were outstanding. Thank you for making the day a rewarding experience for our elected officials,” said John Weithofer, Executive Director, Miami Valley Communications Council.

John C. Chambers presented a seminar on Eminent Domain Takings for Economic Development: Legal Basis, Policy Considerations, Recent Developments, on May 18, 2011 to Ohio State Bar Association CLE in Columbus. John will be speaking to the Ohio State Bar Association CLE again on May 17, 2012 in Columbus as part of the faculty for the annual Land Use and Zoning seminar.

John C. Chambers presented to the Ohio Municipal Clerks Association at Kings Island Resort and Conference Center during the 2011 Ohio Municipal Clerks Association Spring Conference/Institute on April 20, 2011. The presentations included: Bring in your Records Retention Policy — An Interactive Session, and Records Management & How to Handle New Technology. Mr. Chambers has presented to the OMCA on a number of occasions over the years.

The Reviewers
