Mr. Wied is particularly experienced in all areas of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy practice, having represented numerous business debtors to both consensual and contested plan confirmation, as well as secured creditors and creditors committees. He has served two 3-year terms on the Board of Directors of the American Bankruptcy Institute. In the early 1990s, he taught Chapter 11 bankruptcy practice to thousands of California lawyers in seminars sponsored by California Continuing Education of the Bar.
In 1989, Mr. Wied was awarded an honorary LLD degree by the University of San Diego Law School. He is a graduate of Stanford University, AB in 1961, and Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley, LLB in 1964. Between college and law school, he served as a Naval Aviator, and is now retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Captain, Judge Advocate General's Corp.
From 1991 - 1999, Mr. Wied served as commissioner on the California Law Revision Commission on appointment by the Governor of California. He chaired the Commission from 1994 - 1995.
Mr. Wied represents businesses that seek to reorganize financially, both inside and outside of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Mr. Wied is available nationally as a mediator in complex business and commercial cases, particularly including the formulation of consensual Chapter 11 Bankruptcy reorganization plans.
Mr. Wied is a Naval Aviator, and retired as a captain, JAGC, U.S. Naval Reserve. |
