After graduating cum laude from The New England School of Law in 1991, Attorney Cotrupi worked as a staff attorney for The New Hampshire Public Defender's Office and took over management of that office before entering private practice in 1997. Attorney Cotrupi specializes in criminal defense at all court levels in the State of New Hampshire, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Federal Courts. Personal injury cases are handled by the firm as well.

Attorney Cotrupi has attended the ATLA certified Cross Examination School in Atlanta, Georgia, various nationwide training seminars through the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and was one of a handful of attorneys to have attended the 1st Trial Lawyer's College in Dubois, Wyoming in September, 1994 held by Gerry Spence and other nationally recognized trial attorneys.

Attorney Cotrupi has been a featured speaker for the New Hampshire Criminal Defense Lawyer's  Association  on topics ranging from cross examination and portable breath testing in DWI cases to discovery practices in drug cases.  He has lectured on the use and cross examination of expert witnesses and on DWI defense for the New Hampshire Public Defender's Annual Meeting.  Additionally, Attorney Cotrupi has assisted various police departments in the training of new officers.
