I called Midwest Disability to ask about benefits for myself. Turns out I don't qualify with their firm. But, the lady that took my call, Emily D., helped me more than any other law firm I've called who simply say "No" She gave me the numbers for the SSA to inquire into widow benefits and a national organization that helps SS claimants with benefits and she provided other ideas for local assistance.
If I qualified for disability benefits, I would choose Midwest based on that call alone.

The entire team from the legal assistants to the lawyers to the receptionists to the paralegals, everyone was every helpful, understanding, and sympathetic to our needs.

I didn't get a lawyer from the firm to represent me; they picked a lawyer from my home town and he didn't know me or my case, and they failed to secure my SSDI.

We hired MW Disability after receiving two denials. From the time we hired them, my husband never spoke with a lawyer but was only assigned a caseworker. They would only contact us to ask if we had any updates. No one ever reviewed our file and gave any recommendations on what we should do to help his case. We never even met with an actual lawyer until 1 hour before court and they knew NOTHING about his case. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THEY ARE OUT FOR $$$ ONLY.

While I did not speak with the attorney at all before meeting him 30 minutes before trial (mind you, I did not ask to speak with him either), his paralegal, Heather, was just the sweetest, most helpful young woman ever. They should give her a raise.

They never intervened to help me get disability, I did it all myself. So I didn't pay them. I would never recommend them to anyone else. It was a company I found on the internet.

Don't seem like they really care. Very little communication. Haven't finished the case so I can't judge the outcome yet.

Frequently hard to contact and communicate with, but won my case easily and quickly.

I actually never was able to talk to a lawyer. It seemed that the people that came on the line to assist you were just message takers. Then someone would call back on a regular basis to see if I'd filled in all my paperwork. I had questions about the forms and no one seemed to be able to help me with them. I found that their rates were too high. When I realized I was still going to basically be doing all of the work myself, the value of their services dropped.

They never appealed my case, I did it all by myself. I'd never use them again.

They are great with individuals who do not live in the town which they practice out of. They are easy to get a hold of and very helpful when I have questions.

Only real complaint is: They moved to a new building, and since they deal mainly with disabilities, I would think they should have handicap doors that open with an opener. They do not.

During the time I was waiting for my case to go to trial, I did not feel that they stayed in touch with me enough or respond to a couple of my phone calls fast enough, but when the day came, they were very much in my corner and got my case resolved in my favor, it made a great difference in my family's well being and I am truly grateful.
